After breakfast, we will set off for the fascinating Lake Natron, known for its vibrant colors ranging from orange to fuchsia. This lake hosts a magnificent spectacle when the largest flock of flamingos in East Africa gathers for breeding, creating a stunning landscape. The lake, fed by mineral-rich springs, is the only place in the region where flamingos breed, thanks to its alkaline nature, which protects the eggs from various predators. After your breakfast, we will continue exploring this region heading towards Arusha. Lake Natron is also famous for its alkaline waters that turn animals into stone. The alkalinity comes from the sodium carbonate from the surrounding hills, and deposits of this mineral act as preservatives, literally turning some animals into statues. This phenomenon attracts many curious visitors to this site. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Arusha for a relaxing dinner and rest.
